Earlier today, I blogged about discovering more than 15GB of storage in my Google Apps For Your Domain Inbox. The standard for Google-hosted domains is 2GB (2048MB). As of this entry, only myself and another blogger experienced this strange storage allocation.

However, just minutes ago, Google rescinded the 13GB allotment to 2.7GB (2779MB). This is still 700MB more storage than I had before. “I’m confused” is an understatement. Why do I feel like Google is playing “musical chairs” with my inbox? Furthermore, what prompted this generous allotment of email storage to begin with?

In closing, I noticed several visits today from Google’s HQ. I quickly gathered that this wouldn’t last long. My suspicion rang true. However, the fact remains that I still have more inbox storage than a standard Google-hosted account. What’s going on here? Is this all a mere coincidence, or did I miss the NDA for a top-secret Google project?
